My name is Walt Pieper, and I am the founder and President of The Panador Hat Company™. Panador imports high quality panama hats from Cuenca, Ecuador. Our company was formed to help improve Ecuador’s economy and provide new markets for Ecuadorian products.

If you are unfamiliar with Cuenca, it is a beautiful mountain city located several hundred kilometers from the Pacific coast.

This region is known for its fine artisans and exceptional handcrafters. They make some of the finest Panama Hats anywhere.

Economic Development

Cuenca has a rich cultural heritage. However, it is not a wealthy part of the country. That's why we have committed to help foster economic development in this region.

I have been working with the people in Ecuador for over 10 years and over this time have developed many warm friendships and business relationships.

In 2008, I was approached by Ecuador's trade authorities to more fully develop the markets for Cuenca's finest products.

I have made many personal appearances to support this wonderful country and its people.

In fact, I am working with both the United Nations and the United States Agency for International Development on their behalf.
